Channel Master Reception and Connectivity Consumer and Professional Products

GENERAL INFORMATION

All Channel Master antennas are classified according to sensitivity: for example, “fringe,” “suburban,” etc. These ratings are designed to indicate at what distance from a TV transmitter the antenna provides the best reception. These ratings are based on optimum conditions over unobstructed terrain. Factors such as the type of terrain, the number and placement of buildings along the signal path, and the height and power output of the transmitting tower will have a bearing on the type of antenna which is appropriate.

Channel Master has long been recognized as the foremost designer of high performance antennas. Our engineers have prepared the following classifications according to exacting standards. Examine very carefully any manufacturer’s claim of greater performance.

The following chart is intended as a general guide for selecting antennas:

Which Antenna Works Best for Your Location?

Selecting the right antenna can be an easy task when you have the right information. One valuable tool is the Consumer Electronics Association's antenna selector web site WWW.ANTENNAWEB.ORG. where you can find out which TV channels are available in your area, including the direction of the transmit towers and the TYPE OF ANTENNA needed to receive these stations. On each antenna box you will see the CEA antenna selector chart classifying the antenna. For example, if the web site says you need a medium directional antenna, choose the antenna that is classified as a medium directional or better. Channel Master's Antenna Reference Chart (PDF) shows the CEA classification for all Channel Master antennas. A Commercial TV Channels Reference Chart (PDF) is also available.

Prevent Electric Shock!

WARNING! Installation or removal of antennas near power lines is dangerous. For safe installation, read and carefully follow the instructions included with every Channel Master antenna. Never let any part of the antenna, mast, or guying assembly touch any power line. If a metal part does touch a line, it will complete an electrical path through the antenna to you, and you could be killed or seriously injured. We strongly recommend that you stay a distance away from all power lines of a minimum of twice the total length of the antenna and mast.

Superior Reception Features and Rugged Weather-Defying Strength

• All models feature heavy-duty elements designed to
withstand wind and weather, including ABS insulators
able to endure, even hurricane weather. Reinforced
element sleeves provide added strength at greatest
  stress points on long elements.

• Spun boom ends on all models offer stability in high winds
   and prevent annoying wind whistle.

• Sturdy snaplocks and reinforced sleeves are on longer
elements for all Channel Master’s antennas.

• Double boom truss construction on larger CROSSFIRE
antennas keeps elements inline and prevents antenna
sagging even under heavy ice loads. High-strength truss
boom braces reinforce the double boom and prevent
  structural distortion.

• All-aluminum phasing crossover harness available on all
CROSSFIRE and ADVANTAGE models for years of
excellent reception that include insulating spacers to
prevent shorting and keep all elements working in
  perfect harmony.

• FREE Outdoor Balun Kit with all antennas.
